Rachel
Owens
Rachel Owens is a business consultant with over 20 years experience
in financial services. She has helped hundreds of family and closely
held businesses in a variety of areas, including succession planning,
employee benefits, retirement planning, and estate planning.
In June 1997, she earned the professional designation of
Family Business Specialist from the American College. This
designation recognizes the unique needs of family-owned businesses.
Her specialization in family-owned businesses began in 1994,
when
she helped found the Family Business Council at California State
University, Fullerton. In 2000, she received the Small Business
Administration's "Women in Business Advocate of the Year" award.
She currently serves on the board of the Small Business Financial
Development Corporation (SBFDC). The SBFDC is a community
resource for business capital for Orange County small businesses.
Rachel is a curriculum advisor for the University Extended Education
Programs at California State University, Fullerton, and is a published
author and lecturer on succession planning. She is a founding
member and serves on the board of the National Association of
Women Business Owners (Orange County Chapter). Rachel holds a
BA from the University of California, Irvine.

Bill
Sornstein
Bill Sornstein has been a financial services professional since
1977 and is a specialist in the area of qualified retirement plans.
He founded Benefit Plan Services (BPS) in 1981. BPS provides administrative
and consultative services for pension and profit sharing plans
of closely held businesses.
Consulting with family and closely held businesses for over 20
years, he has assisted clients with succession planning, estate
planning, and retirement planning. As co-founder of Succession
Strategies, he enjoys working with family issues as they relate
to the ongoing health and success of the business. His experience includes leading seminars and workshops, strategic
planning, and facilitating family meetings. He has also published
articles on succession and retirement planning. Bill received

Don
Mitchell
Federal Contracting Expert
Don Mitchell is a retired member of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
He was team leader of the 8(a) program in the Santa Ana, CA
District office, and a warranted contracting officer. He is an
expert in
Government Contracting, and has worked very closely with minorities,
women-owned companies, HUB zone companies, and disabled veterans.
In 2004, the Santa Ana District office was responsible for $200
million in 8(a) contracts. Don has worked in other levels
of government, including municipal and county governments, state
government (Iowa), and the United Nations in European offices.
Prior to working for the government, he was in the daily newspaper
business. Although he is a native Californian, he is a graduate
of the University of Iowa. He also is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Don is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers
and the Department of Defense Western Regional Council
for Small Business
Education. He is a founding past-president of the North American
Butterfly Association, Orange County Chapter, and a member
of several other conservation/natural history groups. His

M. Kramer, Ph.D.
Business Psychology Consulting
Dr. Jonathan Kramer is a consulting psychologist, and the founder
and president of Business Psychology Consulting. Jon has over 20
years of experience helping family businesses, executives, managers,
and teams assess and maximize their abilities, resolve problems,
handle transitions, and achieve their goals. He has consulted for
many companies, including TEC Worldwide, United Technologies, Peterson
Brothers Construction, University of Phoenix, and others.
Jon is a graduate of New York University, the University of Pennsylvania,
and the California School of Professional Psychology. He is a noted
speaker, author and educator, is board certified in Psychology
and Diagnostics, and a member of the Corporate Director’s
Forum, American Psychological Association, and Society for Psychologists
in Management. Jon is also the founding President
of the San Diego Leadership Initiative, a nonprofit educational
organization promoting values,
including integrity and service to others, in profit, nonprofit,
and civic leaders.
Jerry Biggerstaff
Consultant
Jerry Biggerstaff has counseled, taught, directed and managed
in a variety of settings. He has advanced degrees in education,
counseling,
and psychology. For the past ten years Jerry has owned and operated
his own business. Presently he combines this diverse background
and experience to offer Coaching and Consulting Services to
CEO's, entrepreneurs, and other professionals.
Following a successful career in teaching at the university
level and counseling, Jerry established BiggType Print & Packaging
in the early 1990s. This is a commercial print brokerage whose
client list includes IBM, Nortel Networks, Scheffland & Sommerset,
Catalina Marketing, Hilton Hotels and others. In the summer of 2004,
Jerry co-founded E3 Business Coaching. E3 helps clients Emerge
